Mas de Daumas Gassac is one of the Languedoc's most celebrated estates, often called the 'Lafite of the Languedoc' for their groundbreaking quality. This Frizant (lightly sparkling) rosé is a more playful expression from the Guibert family, adding gentle effervescence to their Mediterranean fruit. Typically a blend of Grenache and other local varieties, bottled with a light sparkle. The 2024 vintage is just released, capturing bright aromatics and freshness.
Strawberry, raspberry and watermelon with floral notes and citrus zest. Light bodied with refreshing acidity and gentle bubbles that add lift and texture. Dry with vibrant fruit character and that playful fizz. Clean, thirst-quenching finish. Easy-drinking and fun.
Serve well chilled (6-8°C). Perfect aperitif or pair with salads, seafood, light tapas, or summer dishes. The gentle sparkle makes it versatile and crowd-pleasing. Drink young and fresh, ideally within the year to capture the effervescence and fruit vibrancy.

In 1971, Véronique and Aimé Guibert bought a “Mas” (farmhouse) and abandoned mill in the heart of a beautiful, wild valley through which flowed the Gassac river. After consulting Prof. Henri Enjalbert they planted vines in clearings in the middle of 4,000 hectares of forest - he was convinced they had the "terroir" to produce a Grand Cru of the future. The first vintage of their flagship red was produced in 1978 from roughly 80% Cabernet Sauvignon. By 1982, a respected French wine guide described Mas de Daumas Gassac as the “Château Lafite of the Languedoc”. The Rose Frizant was created in 1981, also from the younger Cabernet vines.
Today, the children of the Guibert family manage the estate, storing their harvests in an old cellar underneath the original mill. The five brothers have continued to fine tune the Mas de Daumas Gassac's Grand Vin and broaden the range with varietal wines and blends that offer great value for money under their Moulin de Gassac label.
