The Slurp Team

We're a small team, and we think that's worth saying upfront. It means the people who choose the wines are the same people who answer your questions. It means nobody here is hitting a volume target or filling a list for the sake of it. And it means when we recommend something, it's because we'd actually buy it ourselves. We've been doing this long enough to know what we're looking for, and small enough to actually care about getting it right.

What we look for

Most of what we sell sits between £10 and £30. That's not an accident, it's where we think the most interesting wine is right now. The producers who are a bit too small for the supermarkets, the appellations that haven't quite been discovered yet, the bottles that consistently punch above their price. Finding those is genuinely what gets us out of bed. We're not precious about it though. We stock wines under a tenner that we're genuinely proud of, the kind of thing you'd open on a Tuesday without thinking twice, and still be pleased you did. And at the other end, we have access to fine wine and allocated bottles: the things that take years to get your hands on, from producers with waiting lists longer than most people's patience. If that's what you're after, we can help with that too. What you won't find is wines that are here because they're easy to shift, or because a supplier needed to move stock. Everything on the site has been tasted and chosen deliberately. If it doesn't make the cut, it doesn't go up.

Several of our team hold WSET qualifications. We like talking about wine, that probably goes without saying, but more importantly, we're good at listening. If you tell us what you're cooking, what you've enjoyed before, or what you'd like to spend, we'll find you something you'll be happy with. We're not going to upsell you something you don't need or push whatever we have too much of. We're available Monday to Friday. The practical stuff

We pack every order, carefully. Our packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard, fully recyclable and we're always looking at ways to improve on that. Wine is fragile and sometimes travels a long way to get to us before it travels to you, so we take the last mile seriously. If something ever arrives damaged or isn't what you expected, let us know. We'll sort it without the back-and-forth.
