Famille Guibert is the range that showcases specific parcels from the legendary Mas de Daumas Gassac estate. Combe Calcaire (Limestone Valley) comes from a single site with distinctive limestone soils that bring mineral tension and elegance to the wine. This is a step up from their everyday Pont de Gassac range, showing more terroir character and complexity. Typically a blend of Viognier, Roussanne and other Rhône varieties. The 2023 vintage is fresh and vibrant.
White peach, citrus and floral notes with a distinctive mineral edge from the limestone soils. Medium bodied with bright acidity and a clean, stony finish. There's elegance and precision here rather than weight, showing restraint typical of cooler limestone sites. Fresh, lifted character with good purity. Long, mineral-driven finish.
Serve cool (10-12°C). Pairs well with grilled fish, roast chicken, soft cheeses, or works as a refined aperitif. Drinking beautifully now, will develop further over 3-5 years.

In 1971, Véronique and Aimé Guibert bought a “Mas” (farmhouse) and abandoned mill in the heart of a beautiful, wild valley through which flowed the Gassac river. After consulting Prof. Henri Enjalbert they planted vines in clearings in the middle of 4,000 hectares of forest - he was convinced they had the "terroir" to produce a Grand Cru of the future. The first vintage of their flagship red was produced in 1978 from roughly 80% Cabernet Sauvignon. By 1982, a respected French wine guide described Mas de Daumas Gassac as the “Château Lafite of the Languedoc”. The Rose Frizant was created in 1981, also from the younger Cabernet vines.
Today, the children of the Guibert family manage the estate, storing their harvests in an old cellar underneath the original mill. The five brothers have continued to fine tune the Mas de Daumas Gassac's Grand Vin and broaden the range with varietal wines and blends that offer great value for money under their Moulin de Gassac label.
