A captivating Rioja white that blends refined structure with bright freshness, expressive citrus, delicate florals, and subtle vanilla layers, elevated by textural complexity and length.
Pale straw-yellow in the glass, Muga Blanco 2024 welcomes you with notes of white blossom, stone fruit and a slight hint of vanilla, adding complexity. On the palate, the lively acidity is perfectly balanced by the body. You can taste citrus notes accompanied by a subtle salinity which gives it greater length. The aftertaste is long, with reminders of citrus and stone fruit, leaving a fresh, elegant sensation.
Made in Rioja’s Alta sub-region, this blend features Viura, Garnacha Blanca, and Malvasía de Rioja sourced from two distinctive soils: calcareous clay in Valle del Oja and iron-rich clay in Valle del Najerilla, adding both freshness and depth. Following harvest, must undergoes gentle maceration with skins before fermentation in a mix of oak vessels, including new French oak casks. Post-fermentation, it spends four months on lees, with bâtonnage twice weekly early on and daily in its final month to enhance complexity and mouthfeel.
Serve well-chilled (10–12 °C). Delightful as an aperitif or with grilled fish, shellfish, rice dishes, soft cheeses, and light vegetables - its structure and freshness pair beautifully.

Bodegas Muga is a family business founded by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño in 1932, located in the historic Barrio de La Estación (Station Quarter) of Haro. It is home to both the most traditional winemaking methods and the latest cutting-edge techniques. They are the only cellar in Spain with a master cooper and three in-house barrel-makers.
Bodegas Muga vineyards are located on the foot of the Montes Obarenses, within the area called Rioja Alta. The site climate is exceptional due to, on the one hand, the singular geography and orientation of the vines and on the other hand, the surrounding climates – Mediterranean, Atlantic and Continental climates are combined harmoniously thus creating a suitable climate for growing top quality grapes.
The soil in this area is mostly clay and limestone, divided into small terroirs with different physical and chemical qualities between them; each terroir has a unique and defined personality. This variety of climatic influences and different soils influence many stages of the vine growth cycle. The growth will be complex and delicate, key to the potential quality of the wines in this area.
The grape varieties grown are Tempranillo, Garnacha (Grenache), Mazuelo (Carignan) and Graciano for the red wines; and Viura, Garnacha blanca and Malvasia are used for the white wines.
