Bright ruby-red in the glass with a garnet-tinged rim. Expect an intense and complex nose where wild forest fruits, blackberries and blueberries, meet spicy undertones. On the palate it’s long, elegant, and well-balanced, with integrated sharp acidity and soft tannins creating an enduring finish full of fruit.
From the iconic Bodegas Muga in Rioja Alta, this 2020 Reserva is made from a classic blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano. Fermented with a seven-day maceration in oak vats, it aged for 24 months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels crafted in-house. After bottling, it rested at the winery for at least 12 months for added finesse.
Serve at ~16–18 °C (decant for 30 minutes). A match for roast lamb, game casserole, ribeye steak, or hearty vegetable stews. This Reserva brings both strength and sophistication.

Bodegas Muga is a family business founded by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño in 1932, located in the historic Barrio de La Estación (Station Quarter) of Haro. It is home to both the most traditional winemaking methods and the latest cutting-edge techniques. They are the only cellar in Spain with a master cooper and three in-house barrel-makers.
Bodegas Muga vineyards are located on the foot of the Montes Obarenses, within the area called Rioja Alta. The site climate is exceptional due to, on the one hand, the singular geography and orientation of the vines and on the other hand, the surrounding climates – Mediterranean, Atlantic and Continental climates are combined harmoniously thus creating a suitable climate for growing top quality grapes.
The soil in this area is mostly clay and limestone, divided into small terroirs with different physical and chemical qualities between them; each terroir has a unique and defined personality. This variety of climatic influences and different soils influence many stages of the vine growth cycle. The growth will be complex and delicate, key to the potential quality of the wines in this area.
The grape varieties grown are Tempranillo, Garnacha (Grenache), Mazuelo (Carignan) and Graciano for the red wines; and Viura and Malvasia are used for the white wines.
Reserva 2020
Manual harvesting. Fermentation in wooden vats with controlled temperatures. Aged for 24 months in casks made in our own coopers’ workshop with selection of the sources. The origin of the wood is 80% French oak and 20% American. Before bottling the wine is fined using fresh egg whites. It then spends a minimum of 12 months in our bottle cellar to give it greater complexity and finesse.
This wine will be an excellent accompaniment to meat dishes like a ribeye steak, as well as with charcuterie and all kinds of casseroles.
A vibrant Rioja rosé, delicately pale pink, bursting with peach and stone-fruit aromas, bright acidity, and a long, refreshing finish. Pure elegance and freshness in a glass.
A standout Rioja Reserva. Rich, refined, and elegantly structured. This iconic cuvée blends ripe berry, spice, and chocolate nuances, delivering both immediate allure and impressive aging potential.
