Tasting notes

This wine pours a vibrant ruby hue, greeting you with an expressive nose of juicy cherries, ripe berries, and a whisper of prune and fig aromas, all lifted by peppery spice. The palate remains lively yet rounded, delivering succulent fruit framed by grippy, structured tannins and a satisfying finish that lingers with depth.

Crafted by the Brunel family, esteemed Châteauneuf-du-Pape producers who extend their expertise into the accessible Brunel de la Gardine range, this is a classic GSM blend: ~65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 15% Mourvèdre. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel with extended skin contact for depth, then matured in concrete tanks to preserve freshness and regional character.

Serve chilled, around 16–18 °C. This rich, spiced red pairs beautifully with grilled meats, hearty stews, charcuterie boards, middle‑eastern spiced dishes, and diverse cheeses. Versatile enough for everyday or elevated meals.

Gaston Brunel acquired Chateau de la Gardine in 1945. He was a famous négociant at the time but the Brunel family had been involved in winemaking since 17th Century. Around 10 years ago the Brunel family went back to their wine merchant roots by launching the Brunel de le Gardine range, allowing them to offer a wide range of both Southern and Northern Rhône appellations.

The Brunel family chooses the best wines from each appellation, using well-established relations with top winegrowers in the area. The family then uses all their knowledge and experience blending and maturing these wines, respecting tradition and the typicity of each terroir.

About ten appellations are represented: from the northernmost part of the Rhône Valley (Condrieu, Cornas) to the south (Vacqueyras, Gigondas).

The quality packaging, with the Gardine special bottle, is the signature of this fine selection.
