This is the Brunel family's entry-level white, sourced from Côtes du Rhône parcels outside the Châteauneuf boundary. Made with the same attention to detail as their prestige bottlings but designed for immediate enjoyment. Typically a blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Clairette, fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness. The 2024 vintage is just bottled, capturing maximum vibrancy and fruit purity.
Zesty citrus, white peach and spring flowers with a hint of melon. Medium bodied with bright, refreshing acidity and a crisp mineral finish. Lively and fruit-forward with that just-bottled energy. There's enough weight to handle food but it remains light and approachable. Clean, vibrant character.
Serve well chilled (8-10°C). Perfect aperitif or pair with grilled prawns, fresh salads, soft cheeses, or light pasta. This is at its best right now while it's young and fresh. Drink within a year to capture that brightness.
Gaston Brunel acquired Chateau de la Gardine in 1945. He was a famous négociant at the time but the Brunel family had been involved in winemaking since 17th Century. Around 10 years ago the Brunel family went back to their wine merchant roots by launching the Brunel de le Gardine range, allowing them to offer a wide range of both Southern and Northern Rhône appellations.
The Brunel family chooses the best wines from each appellation, using well-established relations with top winegrowers in the area. The family then uses all their knowledge and experience blending and maturing these wines, respecting tradition and the typicity of each terroir.
About ten appellations are represented: from the northernmost part of the Rhône Valley (Condrieu, Cornas) to the south (Vacqueyras, Gigondas).
The quality packaging, with the Gardine special bottle, is the signature of this fine selection.
