Elegant, with fresh aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet spices and fine toasted notes. Very balanced and easy to drink wine, with round tannins and a long and very pleasant finish.

Founded in 1927 by 11 forward-thinking locals, the Protos winery, the first in Ribera del Duero, has an attitude of constant improvement with the sole aim of crafting the best possible wine. For the last 10 years, Protos has been studying every plot of land it owns, observing how Tempranillo clones adapt and change in each location to gain a deeper understanding of the vine, and ultimately craft the best expression of each terroir. The vineyard area spans an enormous 1,400 hectares throughout the Ribera del Duero, Rueda and Cigales DO’s, with some of the vines aged at between 50 and 100 years old. The soils are a mixture of loam-clay-sand, as well as some limestone and silt. The winery at Bodegas Protos was designed in 2008 by Rogers Stirk Harbour and is an architectural delight – well worth a visit if you find yourself in Ribera del Duero!
In 2024, Bodegas Protos ranked in the '50 Most Admired Wine Brands in the World' by the prestigious Drinks International magazine.

This biodynamic Ribera del Duero wine offers rich black fruit, hints of balsamic and chocolate, with a smooth, polished tannin finish and great balance.
90% Tempranillo with the other 10% shared between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, grown in the oldest part of the La Planta estate. They are grown at an altitude of 911 metres (2,989 feet) in chalky clay soil with the limestone bedrock just one metre below the surface.
A Ribera del Duero Reserva of great elegance and great seduction. Serve with grilled red meats, roast lamb, roast pork, goat's cheese, spicy dishes. We recommend decanting.
