In the glass, this blend shows a glowing ruby-red colour. The nose opens with juicy damson and ripe raspberry, spiced with a subtle whisper of black pepper. On the palate, it delivers concentrated red fruits (mulberry and violet) wrapped in silkily smooth tannins. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a perfumed echo that begs for another sip.
Hailing from the sun-drenched hills of Languedoc, Orbiel & Frères is crafted by pioneering “flying winemaker” Hugh Ryman in collaboration with local Minervois co-operatives. The name refers to the Orbiel River (“old gold” in Occitan), whose fertile terroir enriches these vineyards. Together, they capture freshness and complexity in a wine that’s both elegant and effortlessly drinkable.
Perfect with grilled meats, bold pasta dishes, or a rich beef daube.

Founded in 2001 by Hugh Ryman, a pioneer in flying viticulture, VINARTUS bases itself on developing private labels and brands. Production is divided between South America (Chile and Argentina), Spain and France. Their mission is to create an enjoyable experience for those who work the land and those involved in producing the wine. They want their passion to be felt throughout the different branches of the company, creating a pioneering spirit that allows them to move further and faster.
They vinify grapes sourced from a variety of different terroirs in the Languedoc, including cool-climate sites at higher elevations. The Grenache is cultivated in the Terraces of Pepieux while the Syrah vines make their home in the cooler parts of Carcassonne. The Orbiel River, and its tributaries (frères), runs near Carcassonne and Minervois.
