Château d'Esclans is the estate behind the iconic Whispering Angel rosé, transforming Provence rosé into a luxury category since 2006. Rock Angel is their step-up cuvée, sourced from older vines and seeing brief oak aging to add texture and complexity. The focus remains on pale colour and delicate fruit, but with more structure than their entry-level wines. The 2024 vintage captures fresh aromatics straight from the cellar.
Wild strawberry, white peach and citrus peel with subtle floral notes and mineral edge. Light to medium bodied with refreshing acidity and a clean, precise finish. Delicate and refined with restraint typical of premium Provence rosé. There's texture here from the oak contact, giving it more substance than simple summer pinks. Bone-dry with elegant fruit expression.
Serve well chilled (6-8°C). Excellent aperitif or pair with Mediterranean seafood, salads, grilled fish, or light Asian dishes. This has the refinement for special occasions while remaining versatile. Drink within a year to capture the freshness and pale colour.
