From the Haut-Médoc in Bordeaux, the Cantemerle 2020 has a brilliant colour, a powerful bouquet, and a soft but lively flavour. It is rare to find such refined fruitiness. Approachable when young, this wine will also age extremely well. A charming and fruity wine with fresh tannins that is marked by hints of vanilla, a taste which comes from well-integrated oak. Highly recommended.

Located in the southern part of the Bordeaux Médoc peninsula, near the villages of Macau and Ludon, Château Cantemerle was designated a Grand Cru Classé in the famous 1855 classification. The deep gravel soils contribute to the unique terroir of the property, helping to produce complex, well-balanced and refined wines. Covering an area of 91 hectares, the vineyards are planted to 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, and have an average age of 35 years.
The state-of-the-art cellars are housed in beautiful neo-Classical buildings, bearing witness to the high esteem in which wine has been held by the successive owners of Cantermerle. The estate produces an average of 600,000 bottles per year – 70% of this goes into Château Cantemerle whilst the other 30% makes up the second wine, Les Allées de Cantemerle.
