Classic Burgundian Chardonnay in a lightly oaked style, floral and mineral with warm toasty oak

"Adorned with a light gold color with green reflections, this Burgundy Chardonnay seduces with its fresh nose with aromas of flint, with tones of white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and toasted notes. On the palate, an aromatic, fine, straight and full-bodied wine is revealed.

Its liveliness allows it to be appreciated as an aperitif. Its aromatic register plays in connivance with fish and seafood. It also suits onion tarts as well as many varieties of cheese such as Brie, Vacherin, Saint-Nectaire, Mont-d'or or Beaufort."

Madame Veuve Point is named for Jeanne Marie Point, née Lassarat. In 1895, she married vigneron Claude Point, and joined him in his vineyards in Solutré-Pouilly in the Maconnais region of Burgundy. When Claude died in 1903, the newly widowed Jeanne Marie decided that she would work the vineyards in his place, and continue the winemaking legacy that she and Claude had begun. Her Pouilly-Fuissé won the Grand Prize at the Saint Louis World's Fair in the USA in 1904.

Today, the winery is named in her honour, as a pioneering woman in wine. Her great-great-granddaughter, Géraldine Point, has picked up the torch and now makes wine from over 30 of the most famous Villages in Burgundy. Each has been selected for its quality and true representation of the terroir.
