Louis Latour is one of Burgundy's most famous negociants, established in 1797. Grand Ardèche comes from vineyards in the Ardèche region of southern France, where the warmer climate produces riper fruit than Burgundy but at a fraction of the price. This Chardonnay is fermented entirely in stainless steel with no oak, focusing purely on clean fruit expression. The 2022 vintage delivers freshness and balance.
Green apple, citrus and white peach with subtle floral notes. Medium bodied with crisp acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. Fruit-forward and straightforward without oak or malo complexity. There's purity here, showing what Chardonnay tastes like without winemaking intervention. Bright and easy-drinking.
Serve well chilled (8-10°C). Versatile with grilled fish, chicken salads, goat's cheese, or as a simple aperitif. This is about freshness and approachability rather than complexity. Drink within 2-3 years while the fruit is lively.

Maison Louis Latour is one of the most innovative producers in Burgundy, whilst maintaining its traditional image. In 1979, with a view to expanding the business, the valley of the Ardèche river with its clay and limestone-based soils was chosen as the ideal location to produce a top quality Chardonnay wine. The average age of the vines is now 25 years. The winemaking is traditional in stainless steel vats, temperature controlled with complete malolactic fermentation for extra complexity and roundness. Ageing is for 8 to 10 months in stainless steel also.
