Domaine Michel Lafarge is one of Burgundy's most respected estates, known primarily for their exceptional Volnay reds. Raisins Dorés (Golden Grapes) is their Aligoté, made from vines in the Côte d'Or with the same meticulous approach as their premium wines. Aligoté is Burgundy's underrated white grape, offering crisp acidity and mineral character at a fraction of Chardonnay prices. The 2022 vintage has had time to develop complexity.
Green apple, lemon and white flowers with subtle almond and mineral notes. Medium bodied with racy acidity and a clean, stony finish. There's more texture and weight here than typical Aligoté, showing the quality of the estate and terroir. The fruit has softened slightly with age, gaining roundness while keeping its characteristic freshness. Long, mineral-driven finish.
Serve well chilled (8-10°C). Classic pairing is with Burgundian gougères, but also excellent with oysters, grilled fish, goat's cheese, or as a crisp aperitif. Drinking beautifully now, will hold another 2-3 years.

"The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté Raisins Dorés has a very pure bouquet, quite entrancing, with scents of honeysuckle, quince and Japanese yuzu. Lovely definition. The palate is well-balanced with a spicy entry. It’s a lively Aligoté with a touch of pepperiness towards the finish. Delightful.
As usual, I tasted with Frédéric Lafarge and his daughter Clothilde at their somewhat labyrinthine winery in Volnay, with so many annexes you could easily get lost. Then again, there are a few wineries that I would like to get lost in."
“Despite the canicule [long period of hot, dry weather], we have a good freshness in the wine,” Lafarge explained. “We didn’t have any hydric stress, which is because of our biodynamic treatments in the vineyard. We harvested from August 26 until September 17, finishing with the Aligoté. The reds came in at around 13.5% alcohol. I think that the 2022s will give us more pleasure than 2021.” Neal Martin, Vinous.com
