Chateau Senejac sits in the southern Haut-Médoc on gravelly soils between Margaux and the city of Bordeaux. The Cordier family has owned the estate since the 1960s and farms 40+ hectares with a focus on quality fruit selection. The 2021 vintage was challenging in Bordeaux, but careful vineyard management delivered wines with balance and structure. Blend is roughly 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
Blackcurrant and blackberry with cedar, tobacco leaf and subtle herbal notes. Medium-bodied with ripe, present tannins, structured enough to age 5-8 years but approachable now with decanting. There's freshness typical of the vintage cutting through the dark fruit. Well-judged oak integration adds complexity without heaviness.
Decant 30-60 minutes if drinking young. Excellent with grilled red meats, roast lamb, or aged cheeses. Serve around 16-18°C.

The Sénéjac vineyard in the commune of Pian Médoc dates back to the 16th century. Since 1999, it has been the property of the Cordier family who also own and run the revered Grand Cru Classé Château Talbot in Saint-Julien. Today, it is Nancy Bignon-Cordier and family at the helm. The same care and attention is given to both wines, meaning that this one outperforms its "standing".
The vineyard covers 41 hectares with classic, deep gravel soils and the vines have attained an average of 35 years. The wine is aged in oak barriques for 18 months before bottling.
