Pale straw-yellow in the glass, Muga Blanco 2025 welcomes you with notes of white blossom, stone fruit and a slight hint of vanilla, adding complexity. On the palate, the lively acidity is perfectly balanced by the body. You can taste citrus notes accompanied by a subtle salinity which gives it greater length. The aftertaste is long, with reminders of citrus and stone fruit, leaving a fresh, elegant sensation. Made in Rioja`s Alta sub-region, this blend features Viura, Garnacha Blanca, and Malvasia de Rioja sourced from two distinctive soils: calcareous clay in Valle del Oja and iron-rich clay in Valle del Najerilla, adding both freshness and depth. Following harvest, must undergoes gentle maceration with skins before fermentation in a mix of oak vessels, including new French oak casks. Post-fermentation, it spends four months on lees, with batonnage twice weekly early on and daily in its final month to enhance complexity and mouthfeel. Serve well-chilled (10-12 °C). Delightful as an aperitif or with grilled fish, shellfish, rice dishes, soft cheeses, and light vegetables - its structure and freshness pair beautifully.
