Tasting Notes

Slurp Wines NR

Orbiel & Frères is produced by Celliers Jean d`Alibert, a cooperative in the Languedoc focused on quality fruit from the region`s diverse terroirs. This Grenache and Syrah blend captures the warm, approachable character of southern France, made for near-term enjoyment rather than aging. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve fresh fruit. The 2024 vintage is exceptionally fresh, just released from the cellar. Red cherry, raspberry and plum with subtle herbs and spice. Medium bodied with soft, supple tannins and bright acidity. Fruit-forward and easy-going with that warm Mediterranean character. There`s just enough structure to pair with food but it remains approachable and drinkable. Clean, straightforward finish. Serve slightly cool (14-16°C). Pairs well with grilled meats, pizza, pasta with tomato sauce, or works nicely on its own as an easy-drinking red. Enjoy within 2-3 years while the fruit is fresh and vibrant. [Slurp Wines, 05/06/2026]

Founded in 2001 by Hugh Ryman, a pioneer in flying viticulture, VINARTUS bases itself on developing private labels and brands. Production is divided between South America (Chile and Argentina), Spain and France. Their mission is to create an enjoyable experience for those who work the land and those involved in producing the wine. They want their passion to be felt throughout the different branches of the company, creating a pioneering spirit that allows them to move further and faster.

They vinify grapes sourced from a variety of different terroirs in the Languedoc, including cool-climate sites at higher elevations. The Grenache is cultivated in the Terraces of Pepieux while the Syrah vines make their home in the cooler parts of Carcassonne. The Orbiel River, and its tributaries (frères), runs near Carcassonne and Minervois.
