Les Trois Fontaines is produced by Producteurs Plaimont, a quality-focused cooperative in Gascony known for their commitment to sustainable and organic viticulture. This white blends Sauvignon Blanc with Colombard, a local grape that adds freshness and citrus character. Sourced from organic vineyards in the rolling foothills near the Pyrenees. The 2020 vintage has had time in bottle but should still be fresh enough to enjoy. Grapefruit, passion fruit and ripe citrus with floral undertones. Medium bodied with bright acidity and a clean, lemony finish. Fruit-forward and quaffable with that zippy freshness typical of the blend. There`s juiciness here balanced by crisp acidity. Straightforward and refreshing. Serve well chilled (6-8°C). Pairs well with creamy chicken dishes, goat`s cheese salads, grilled fish, or works nicely on its own as an easy aperitif. Drinking now, best enjoyed within the year to capture the citrus-driven vitality.
Founded in the heart of south west France, Plaimont's vineyard holdings cover a mix of terroirs, from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the rolling hills of Gascony. Founded in the 1970s when Andre Dubosc - a third-generation wine grower - set out to build the reputation of the wines from his part of South-West France; many other passionate young winegrowers and smaller wineries joined the cooperative to support its development. Plaimont also acquired the region's finest chateaux and estates (Chateau de Sabazan, Chateau Saint-Go, Monastère de Saint-Mont, Chateau Arricau-Bordes, Chateau Bois Mathieu et Chateau de Cassaigne) with a view to rebuilding iconic vineyards and giving new impetus to the region.
Their vineyards now cover in excess of 5,000 hectares and 5 wine denominations.
