Slurp Wines NR
Michel Magnien is a highly regarded domaine based in Morey-Saint-Denis, one of the Côte de Nuits` most prestigious villages. The family farms parcels across the appellation with meticulous attention to detail and minimal intervention winemaking. This village-level Morey comes from younger vines and declassified fruit, but still shows the elegance and minerality the village is known for. The 2019 vintage in Burgundy delivered concentrated, balanced wines. Red cherry, raspberry and plum with violet, stone and subtle spice. Medium bodied with silky tannins and bright acidity. There`s elegance and purity here showing classic Morey character, more refined than neighbouring Gevrey, with mineral tension running through. Fresh fruit balanced by earthy complexity starting to emerge. Long, precise finish. Serve at room temperature (16-18°C). Decant for 30 minutes to open up the aromatics. Pairs beautifully with duck breast, guinea fowl, wild mushroom tart, or semi-aged Époisses. Drinking well now, will develop further over 5-8 years
