Slurp Wines NR
Chateau Marjosse is owned by Pierre Lurton, the celebrated director of both Chateau Cheval Blanc and Chateau d`Yquem. Les Truffiers is his top red cuvee, made from the estate`s oldest vines and best parcels in the Entre-Deux-Mers. This sees careful selection and oak aging, producing wines that punch well above the appellation`s typical quality level. The 2018 vintage in Bordeaux was excellent, delivering ripe fruit with structure. Blackcurrant, dark cherry and plum with cedar, graphite and earthy notes. Medium to full bodied with firm tannins and bright acidity. There`s concentration and depth here showing the quality focus, this is serious Bordeaux winemaking applied to a lesser-known appellation. Layers of dark fruit, spice and mineral complexity. Long, structured finish. Serve at room temperature (16-18°C). Decant for 60 minutes if drinking now. Pairs excellently with grilled steaks, roast lamb, aged Comte, or cassoulet. Drinking well now but built to age over 8-12 years.
