Slurp Wines NR
Michel Magnien is a highly regarded domaine based in Morey-Saint-Denis producing exceptional wines across the Côte de Nuits. Les Argillières is a lieu-dit in Chambolle-Musigny sitting on steep, stony slopes with thin topsoil over limestone. The name refers to clay (argile), and the site produces wines with more structure than typical Chambolle. The 2017 vintage in Burgundy delivered ripe, approachable wines, and this has evolved beautifully. Red cherry, raspberry and violet with rose petals, earth and subtle spice. Medium bodied with fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. There`s the perfume and elegance Chambolle is famous for, but also more grip and mineral tension from the rocky terroir. The fruit has developed savoury complexity with mushroom, tea leaf and forest floor notes. Long, refined finish. Serve at room temperature (16-18°C). Decant for 30-45 minutes to let the aromatics develop. Pairs beautifully with pigeon, duck, cèpe mushrooms, or Brillat-Savarin cheese. Drinking at its peak now, will hold another 3-5 years
