Slurp Wines NR
Named ``Best Overall Champagne`` in The Independent`s ``10 best Champagnes to celebrate with on any occasion```, 4th December 2020. Recommended by James Davis, Master of Wine : ``Lovely, fruity champagne that is ideal as an aperitif or with starters such as crisps, seafood or olives . Citrus and brioche notes, light and easy going and doesn`t require much concentration. Effortless``  Leon Launois is a small family producer based in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the Côte des Blancs` Grand Cru villages renowned for exceptional Chardonnay. The estate has been family-run for generations, farming plots across the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. Cuvee Reservee is their Brut non-vintage, blending multiple harvests to maintain consistent house style. Predominantly Chardonnay with supporting Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Green apple, citrus and brioche with white flowers and subtle almond notes. Medium bodied with fine, persistent bubbles and bright acidity. There`s elegance and purity here with the influence of Grand Cru Chardonnay showing through. Clean fruit expression with gentle yeasty complexity from time on lees. Dry with a chalky, mineral finish. Serve well chilled (6-8°C). Excellent aperitif or pair with oysters, seafood, soft cheeses, or canapes. The acidity and elegance make it versatile with food. Drink within 2-3 years of purchase to capture the freshness.
