Established in 1972, by Janet and Rodney Pratt, Bolney Wine Estate in West Sussex was one of the first, and remains one of the most beautiful, English wine estates. Janet and Rodney were pioneers. Guided by nature - the mild climate and the sandstone soil - they discovered the best varieties of grapes to grow in their eco-system. The team now produce award-winning still and sparkling wines from their famous Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris to classic sparkling Bolney Bubbly and Blanc de Blancs.
The winery won UK Wine Producer of the Year in the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2012. Since then, it was also presented with the title of Winery of the Year 2017 at the UK Wine Awards.
The estate has continued to invest in specialist machinery and, in 2019, it opened a new state-of-the-art winery. With the ethos Guided by Nature since 1972, sustainability is at the heart of the winery's operations. This includes practicing responsible waste management, installing solar panels on the winery's roof and using bottles that are 100% recyclable.
