Tasting Notes

Slurp NR

This Sauvignon Blanc is pale yellow in colour with green tints. It has an expressive nose, marrying grapefruit, fresh lime and a subtle touch of tropical fruit. These bright fruits continue onto the palate, which is round, fleshy and framed by a delicate touch of richness. [Slurp, 14/05/2026]

Discover

Thierry Delaunay, the fifth-generation of the Delaunay family is now at the helm of Domaine Joël Delaunay. A specialist in the Loire, Thierry sources the fruit for The Holy Snail wines from across the valley, some of which he buys from long-standing grower friends and colleagues. These IGP Val de Loire wines offer excellent value.

The Holy Snail Sauvignon Blanc is a blend created by Thierry Delaunay using prime parcels of Sauvignon Blanc from his network of grower friends across the Touraine region of the Loire Valley. Soils here are predominantly clay and silex.

Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were gently pressed. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at 16°C to retain the bright aromatics of the Sauvignon. Following fermentation, the wine was matured on its fine lees for a brief period to add texture to the palate, before being fined, filtered and bottled in early spring.
