Slurp Wines NR

Care for Wild Arthur is a premium red, blending Syrah with a splash of Viognier in the northern Rhone style. Sourced from quality South African vineyards, the wine aims to deliver both social impact and genuine drinking pleasure. The 2019 vintage has developed nicely with bottle age. Blackberry, dark cherry and plum with violet, black pepper and subtle spice. Medium to full bodied with soft tannins and bright acidity. The fruit has evolved beyond youthful ripeness, showing leather, tobacco and earthy notes. The Viognier adds aromatic lift and texture without dominating. Warm, approachable character with good depth. Serve at room temperature (16-18°C). Pairs well with grilled meats, bobotie, game dishes, or hearty stews. Drinking well now, enjoy over the next year. The brand new Care for Wild wines have been born out of an exciting partnership between Freixenet Copestick and Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary NPC, a charity who provides care and rehabilitation to a wide range of animals, and orphaned rhinos in particular. Darren Gough, ex-England fast bowler (nicknamed The Rhino), is a supporter of the charity and is brand ambassador for the Care for Wild wines. 
The Care for Wild wines have been carefully crafted to showcase fine examples of South African winemaking at different price points. With a portion of every sale being donated to the charity, you can explore the brilliant tastes of South Africa and at the same time help the amazing work of the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary.
The 'Arthur' Range, named after a seriously injured, orphaned rhino that was brought to the Sanctuary in 2018. After months of specialist care, little Arthur finally recovered. The three wines in the Care for Wild Arthur Range are tributes to this brave, young rhino's formidable spirit and character.
