2018 Famille Carabello-Baum Ladoix 1er Cru les Grechons

Famille Carabello-Baum is a small family domaine in Burgundy farming parcels across the Côte de Beaune. Les Grechons is a Premier Cru vineyard in Ladoix, the northernmost village of the Côte de Beaune, where limestone soils produce structured, mineral-driven whites. Ladoix often delivers Burgundy quality at more accessible prices than famous neighbours like Aloxe-Corton. The 2018 vintage was excellent, and this has developed beautiful complexity. White orchard fruit, citrus and hazelnut with honeyed notes and toasted almond. Medium to full bodied with creamy texture and bright acidity. The fruit has evolved beyond primary freshness, showing waxy, lanolin character typical of aged Chardonnay. There`s depth and complexity here with mineral tension from the limestone. Long, textured finish. Serve cool (10-12°C). Pairs beautifully with roast chicken, creamy risotto, lobster, or aged Comte.
