Tasting Notes

Slurp Wines NR

Mouton Cadet is the global brand from Baron Philippe de Rothschild, one of Bordeaux`s most prestigious families and owners of Chateau Mouton Rothschild. Sourced from vineyards across Bordeaux and blended to maintain consistent house style year after year. Typically a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged briefly in oak. The 2021 vintage delivers approachable fruit with soft structure. Blackcurrant, plum and red cherry with subtle oak spice and cedar. Medium bodied with soft tannins and moderate acidity. Fruit-forward and easy-drinking with classic Bordeaux character in an accessible style. There`s just enough structure to pair with food while remaining approachable. Clean, straightforward finish. Serve at room temperature (16-18°C). Brief decanting (20-30 minutes) helps it open up. Pairs well with grilled meats, roast chicken, pasta with tomato sauce, or medium cheeses. Drinking well now, enjoy within 3-5 years. [Slurp Wines, 05/06/2026]
