Slurp Wines NR
Chateau Mauvesin Barton is owned by the Barton family, who have been making wine in Bordeaux since 1722 and are best known for their Saint-Julien classified growths Leoville Barton and Langoa Barton. This Moulis estate benefits from the same winemaking expertise applied to a more accessible appellation. Moulis sits inland from Margaux with clay-limestone soils that produce structured, age-worthy wines. The 2018 vintage in Bordeaux was excellent, delivering ripe fruit with balance. Blackcurrant, dark cherry and plum with cedar, graphite and subtle earthy notes. Medium to full bodied with firm tannins and bright acidity. There`s structure and concentration here showing serious left bank character. Classic Cabernet-led blend with power balanced by freshness. Layers of dark fruit, spice and mineral complexity. Long, structured finish. Serve at room temperature (16-18°C). Decant for 60 minutes if drinking now. Pairs excellently with roast beef, grilled lamb chops, aged Cantal, or rich stews. Drinking well now but built to age over 10-12 years.
