Chateau Moulin de Fontmuree Lussac St Emilion 2010
This wonderful Lussac St Emilion from the highly rated 2010 vintage is drinking at its peak now.
Château Moulin de Fontmuree Lussac St Émilion is the second wine of the Château La Claymore Estate, which is owned by François Linard, a vigneron who belongs to a great family of wine growers. The wine takes its name from a mill with a rotating wheel that was used on the Estate more than 100 years ago to mill wheat into flour. Linard and his wife Maria-Dolorès are both passionate about making wines to be savoured, focusing specifically on quality, respect for the soil and tradition.
The name Lussac may be unfamiliar but it is one of Saint-Émilion’s satellite appellations – and one of the only ones deemed to be of high enough quality to attach “Saint-Émilion” to its name. Its red wines are similar in style to those produced in Saint- Émilion, Merlot-dominant blends with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and other Bordeaux varieties, but they are considerably more pocket-friendly.
