Gratien & Meyer Cuvée Flamme Cremant de Loire Brut NV
A UK exclusive for Slurp – a delicious Loire Cremant with a great sense of tradition and elegance.
This delicate Loire Cremant is a superb wine made from a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. With its dense foam and fine bubbles, this fizz has a real elegance. It offers a fresh, sweet-pastry bouquet with notes of hazelnut and candied fruits (apricot and peach). It's completely moreish, with an excellent fusion of acidity and sweetness that leaves a distinctly fresh impression. The length on the palate is particularly impressive as fruitiness and notes of hazelnut slowly emerge.
The perfect wine to serve well-chilled with nibbles, canapés or with fish and seafood.
Gratien & Meyer is one of the leading producers of Cremant wines (traditional method sparkling) in the Loire region of France. The traditional winery was established by Alfred Gratien back in 1864, in the same year that he also founded the globally-recognised Champagne house, Champagne Alfred Gratien.
Gratien & Meyer proudly upholds many of the traditions established over a century and a half ago to produce delicious Loire sparkling wines. It still uses its original cellars to bottle-age their wines that were carved out of the ancient tuffeau limestone hillside overlooking the River Loire. However, while Gratien & Meyer have preserved many of its well-established traditions, it has also been proactive in modernising its winery to ensure that it produces wines of increasingly good quality.
