Gold Medal - Decanter World Wine Awards 2016
Zorzal Wines has been dedicated to the production of high-quality wines since 2008. Zorzal belongs to Canadian partners and to the Michelini brothers, who are outstanding in their passionate, personal leadership in the work of the vineyards and winery. Gualtallary, where Zorzal wines come from, is in one of Argentina's most outstanding vine-growing valleys, the Uco Valley. Gualtallary is situated at 1,350 metres above sea-level in the highest vine-growing zone in the Province of Mendoza, at the foot of Tupungato volcano, one of the highest peaks in the Andes. This zone is characterized by its combination of altitude, alluvial soils, sunny days, low rainfall and wide temperature range. This is the treasure of Argentina." - 96pts, Decanter World Wine Awards 2016
very complex, beautifully balanced blend with vibrant red and blackcurrants combined with dark plums and a lean, mineral finish. The fruit character is extremely rich but is also bright and bouncy, excluding freshness. Refined and with lovely purity, this has great sweetness on the finish and a lifted hint of violets.
