These luxury wines are some of our customers favourites - and while their price tags may be a little more than an average bottle, the increase in quality is well worth the extra. Each wine has been selected as an excellent representation of it's style, and together they are a beautiful and luxurious gift - any fan of wine would appreciate this trio!
CHABLIS - About twenty villages around the town of Chablis can produce this world renowned wine, appreciated for its minerality. It is the unique soil of Chablis that gives this particularity to the Chardonnay grape. The bedrock contains deposits of tiny fossilised oyster shells which remind us that Burgundy once lay beneath a warm ocean.
Pale lemon gold colour and lively nose. On the palate the wine is citrus fruit driven with a well balanced acidity and a refreshing minerality. The finish is elegant with a smooth texture.
It would be perfect served with a seafood platter, grilled fish and prawns cooked in a mild curry sauce. It can also be paired with hard goats cheese and jambon persillé.
BORDEAUX - Rated 91 points by Decanter Magazine, this fine Bordeaux has 'great aromatics' and 'fine focus'. Bright and deep purple in the glass.
This has a fine and fruity nose, with aromas of black plum and blackberry, enhanced with notes of grilled meat. The wine is balanced and juicy, mixing black fruits and a fine liquorice with a peppery and toasted note. Persistent finish. Enjoy now (best decanted) and until 2026.
ROSE - Pale salmon in colour, this is delicate and fresh with plenty of crisp strawberry fruit and a long finish. The new benchmark for Provence rose. Perfect with peppers, garlic dishes, oily fish.
“The French word ‘Caves’ doesn’t literally mean caves, but usually refers to wine cellars – and this world famous rosé comes from one of the finest in the world…” Matthew Jukes.
"Very very pale salmon pink. Delicate nose, some redcurrant, touch of peach, pink grapefruit. Palate textural, lovely oiliness, and soft but present acidity, with grapefruit freshness, but not biting, more cleansing. At core, touch of peach and wild strawberry, delicate, more textural than fruit. But very fine. Layered and hard not to drink." Gold Medal - Global Drinks Masters 2020
