Vergelegen Premium Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2012
A delicious Bordeaux-style blend from one of South Africa's highly regarded wine estates.
Founded on 1 February 1700, Vergelegen (meaning "situated far away"), has been under the ownership of some of the world's great explorers and visionaries, who each their own way, helped shape Vergelegen to what it is today: a world-class Estate and one of South Africa's most highly regarded. Sourced from north and north–westerly vineyards at Vergelegen, Somerset West. Dominating soil types are decomposed granite, Hutton and weathered shale.
Still keeping with the same composition of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it is an attractive dark ruby colour and the nose shows ripe berry, plum, chocolate and coffee flavours. There is also a hint of mint, spice and pencil shavings. The tannins are fine-grained with great fruit-wood integration. Share this fantastic value red with friends over a pizza or bowl of pasta, or complement a rich stew or premium cut of red meat.
