KWV The Mentors Orchestra 2017
This complex Bordeaux style blend is a firm favourite - with aromas of blackcurrants, blueberries, plum and black pepper and hints of dried herbs.
This modern, multi-layered and Bordeaux style blend shows aromas of blackcurrants, blueberries, plum and black pepper with hints of dried herbs.
On the palate, the intense concentration is prompted by firm tannin structure and layers of sweet fruit with an excellent follow through.
KWV is one of South Africa's leading wine and spirit producers, with an impressive international reputation and history. Its new owners brought in a winemaking team led by Wim Truter and we are really enjoying their innovative approach and modern wine styles.
The winemaking team champions South African classics and off-beat varieties such as Grenache Blanc, Verdelho, Cinsault, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo and Malbec.
The team's methods are innovative too: KWV has pioneered and patented technology to produce sulphur-free wines using honey bush and Rooibos tea bark.
The crème de la crème of KWV’s range – limited production wines which focus on terroir and climate, made from both classic and lesser known varietals. This range reflects the best South Africa has to offer and has garnered a host of medals and accolades.
