te Pā is 100% family owned and operated by the MacDonald family, who live at Blenheim's Wairau Bar, a land mass between the Wairau River and the sea, a small island cut from the mainland by the river and the flood canal. The MacDonalds can trace their family occupation here since the first Maori canoes landed in what is believed to be New Zealand's earliest-known settlement in the 1300s.
The current Chief Vintner, Liam McElhinney, is the genius behind some of the world's most iconic Sauvignon Blancs such as Saint Clair and The Ned. This 100% single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is produced from grapes grown on the MacDonald family vineyard.
