Stopham Estate Pinot Gris 2015 West Sussex
One of England's best still white wines, this delicious off-dry Pinot Gris is full of ripe pear and peach fruit with floral notes.
Stopham Estate is one of England's leading vineyards gaining much praise and many accholades from critics and press. Established in West Sussex by ex-F1 engeneer Simon Woodhead in 2007, the winery specialises in Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc in a modern style bottled under screwcap. These are fresh and full-flavoured wines with a lovely purity of flavour, excellent balance and delicate aromatics. Certainly for us these are some of England's best still wines which show we can now compete on the World stage.
A creamy, smooth, pear-juice soaked number, with stony freshness and a nice lick of fresh ginger on the finish.

This Pinot Gris is off-dry and pale yellow in colour, with aromatic peach and pear fruit alongside the floral character. On the palate, this has excellent balance with crisp acidity. It is fairly full bodied, with plenty of juicy fruit intensity, but is refreshing and long, with a delicate citrus and stone fruit finish.
