Sarget de Gruaud Larose 2012 Saint-Julien
A delicious and great value for money blend from the famous Chateau Gruaud Larose in Saint-Julien.
A fantastic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this is the second wine of Chateau Gruaud-Larose. Its complex, intense fruit is paired with well-structured tannins which have allowed it to mature into a sophisticated and powerful wine now.
Chateau Gruaud-Larose is a second growth property in the Saint-Julien region and Sarget is its second wine. For the 2012 vintage it was a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 13% Cebernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It spends between 14-18 months in French oak barrels. The Grand Vin is capable of ageing for 10-30 years or more, whereas this 'baby brother' is designed to drink earlier and as such is great right now.
