Santa Seraffa Gavi del Comune di Gavi 2018
A fresh Italian white from an historic estate in the heart of Gavi.
The 18ha historic Santa Seraffa estate is situated in the prized Gavi del Comune di Gavi zone which surrounds the town of Gavi itself and today belongs to Araldica, one of Gavi's leading producers. The estate's old vineyards are south-facing, and also benefit from chalky soils; both elements help the Cortese grapes to ripen later than average, while producing wines which keep modest alcohol levels, and this ensure wines are elegant with character and finesse.
This is a lovely clean, pure expression of Gavi, one of Italy's most famous white wines. The nose is fresh with citrus, green-apple and a hint of exotic fruit. The palate is refreshing with citrus, apple and a mineral character, and the wines finishes long and very clean. Enjoy while young, but can develop a riper flavour further over the next 3-4 years. This wine is suitable for Vegans.
