San Marzano 'Il Pumo' Negroamaro Salento 2017
A deliciously intense and full-bodied Negroamaro from Puglia, packed with ripe plum, vanilla and spice notes.
San Marzano was established back in 1962 when 19 family vine growers joined to combine their resources and expertise, with the aim to produce wines which reflect the region, while embracing modern winery practises. They are now one of the most highly regarded cooperatives in Southern Italy - highlighted when they were awarded European Producer of the Year at the Sommelier Wine Awards 2017. We think the quality accross the range is excellent, and they offer great expessions of local grapes such as Negroamaro and Primitivo, while being very well-priced, making these perfect weekday wines.
Silver Medal - IWC 2017
A deliciously intense and full-bodied unoaked Negroamaro from Puglia. This is deep ruby with violet tints, and packed with ripe plum, vanilla, raisin and spice notes. The palate is soft, ripe and rounded, with rich fruit but still well-balanced. Perfect with mature cheeses and game dishes. Enjoy now and over the next 3-4 years.
