Ramon Ramos Parlaor Tinta de Toro Roble 2017
A great value Roble Tinta de Toro which is fruit driven and bold
This Toro wine is made by Ramón Ramos, a winery with a history dating back to the 13th century and whose underground cellars are now a museum to the history of the estate. Their Tinta del Toro (Tempranillo) vineyards, most between 20 and 60 years old thrive on the poor sandy, stony soils despite extreme winter cold, summer humidity and a high number of sunshine hours. The climate is continental but very dry; all these climatic conditions help to provide exceptional quality grapes, which is what makes this great value wine so special.
The Parlaor ages for 5 months in American oak barrels to create a unique wine with intense, cherry red color and purple nuances. Its bouquet is reminiscent of ripe red fruits, roasted coffee beans and light smoky notes. On the palate, the full-bodied and mature Parlaor presents itself balanced and long-lasting thanks to the harmony between fruit, alcohol and wood.
