Quinta Brejinho da Costa 'Bairros' Setúbal 2012
A full-flavoured and mellow red from Portugal, a perfect bbq wine.
The Brejinho wines are produced in a tranquil and beautiful landscape, on Portugal's Setúbal peninsula on the Atlantic coast. This is a great area for producing full-flavoured reds which tend to show a mellow character, thanks to fertile soils, lots of sun, and coastal breezes. The 'Bairros' combines local Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet grapes with the international Syrah, to create a gutsy and full-bodied red with plenty of flavour and a rounded mellow character.
Silver Medal winner at the Sommelier Wine Awards, London 2017
This full-flavoured red is a blend of Trincadeira, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet. The nose has pronounced strawberry and cherry aromas with a hint of light vanilla. On the palate, there are lush red and black fruits with refreshing and balanced acidity, combined with an elegant mellow sweetness. Long and persistent aromatic finish
