Mullineux Old Vines White Swartland 2018
A delicious, textured white blend from one of the cape's top producers Mullineux
An unsual blend of Chenin Blanc, Clairette Blanche, Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Semillon Gris which spends 9 months in 3rd and 4th fill French oak 500L barrels and 2000L Foudre. This wine has a floral nose with notes of grapefruit and lime and a hint of spice. These continue on the palate which is richly textured and balanced by a fresh acidity.
After working several vintages around France, winemakers Chris and Andrea decided to settle in Swartland, drawn there by the potential of working with schist and granite terroirs and old vines. They estalished their winery in 2007 and joined forces with Leeu Family Wines in 2013.
They are one of the stand-out producers in South Africa's budding Swartland region.
Produced from 7 sustainably farmed vineyard parcels in different parts of the Swartland
