Los Vascos Carmenere Grande Reserve 2016
Rich fruits such as cherry, blackberry and plum grace the gentle, deep, and seductive palate.
Vina Los Vascos, is one of Chile’s oldest and most highly esteemed estates. Under the auspices of the internationally revered Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1988, they are best known for their reds which stand among the very best in Chilean wine today. The Los Vascos Carmenere Grande Reserve took three years to develop. This variety, which has almost disappeared from its native France is now a flagship grape in Chile. The main objective was to pick the grapes at perfect ripeness, by controlling irrigation and yields and through a selective harvest. The wine was matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which were new.
An array of aromatics: black pepper, bay, hints of coffee, bitter chocolate, mint and nutmeg. Rich fruits such as cherry, blackberry and plum grace the gentle, deep, and seductive palate. Enjoy now until 2024. Pair with roast lamb and mint sauce.
