Les Celliers De Meknes Guerrouane Rouge Les Trois Domaines 2016
An easy going plummy red from Morocco - like a more exotic Cotes du Rhone!
Les Celliers de Meknès is responsible for about 20% of Morocco’s entire wine production. Guerrouane is a region of northern Morocco, found south of the city of Meknès in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, in between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean. This area has been known for producing wines for more than 2000 years. The vineyards are at an altitude of 550 metres and benefit from a dry, sunny climate and sandy soils giving rise to subtle, easy drinking wines.
This is an easy-drinking plummy red, a bit like a more exotic Cotes du Rhone! The palate is rounded and full of plum and strawberry fruits, with earthy hints and herbal and cocoa bean.
