La Ferme Du Mont Côtes du Rhône Villages "Le Ponnant" 2017 150cl Magnum
This "beautifully balanced" Côtes du Rhône has been awarded 92 Points from Jeb Dunnuck
A deep red in colour, this displays aromas of very ripe fruit, black cherries, flowers (violets) and liquorice, plus hints of laurel and black pepper. The palate is ripe and rounded and full of black fruits: blackberries, black cherry and blueberry, with savoury spice and liquorice notes. The soft tannins and full-body are balanced with a freshness which brings finesse and elegance. This is a delicious Côtes du Rhône to enjoy now and the over the next few years.
La Ferme du Mont is one of the up and coming superstars of the Southern Rhône, under the ownership of perfectionist winemaker Stephane Vedeau. When we tasted his wines we were blown away, and when we met him we quickly learnt of his meticulous attention to detail, and passion for producing wonderfully pure wines which show character, elegance and quality. He owns around 50 hectares of old vines which he tends to without the use of chemicals and pesticides, and continues with a sensitive approach in the winery, to let the fruit and the terroir shine through in the wines. These are some of the best Rhône wines we've tasted, which we highly recommend.
The 2017 Côtes du Rhône Villages Le Ponnant offers more depth and richness as well as darker fruits, spice, saddle leather, and dried flower aromas and flavors. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and long. 92 Pts, Jeb Dunnuck
Stephane Vedeau’s La Ferme du Mont is one of the up and coming superstars of the Southern Rhône. Moreover, don’t miss his Côtes du Rhône releases
This estate has essentially come out of nowhere under the guidance of the ambitious, talented and still young proprietor and winemaker, Stephane Vedeau
Across the board, the wines deliver fantastic quality and over-deliver; since 2007, they’ve been near the top of every vintage. In addition to superb Chateauneufs, don’t miss Vedeau’s Cotes du Rhones.
