La Ferme Du Mont "Capelan" Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2016
'Like his Vendange, this wine gives the impression that it made itself with no external force. It's a wine that you dive into - pure pleasure.' (MW) 95 Points Decanter Magazine

La Ferme du Mont's 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Cotes Capelan is a fantastic example of Southern Rhône Grenache, albeit one made with a modern take (about a third of the wine was raised in barrels). Hints of vanilla appear on the nose, adding a bit of richness to the bright red berries and orange zest notes. It's a full-bodied, lush, creamy-textured wine, with fine tannins and hints of mulling spices on the long, silky finish. Great intensity, vibrant fruit and a plush texture make this a special wine indeed. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. (JC) (8/2018)
La Ferme du Mont is one of the up and coming superstars of the Southern Rhône, under the ownership of perfectionist winemaker Stephane Vedeau. When we tasted his wines we were blown away, and when we met him we quickly learnt of his meticulous attention to detail, and passion for producing wonderfully pure wines which show character, elegance and quality. He owns around 50 hectares of old vines which he tends to without the use of chemicals and pesticides, and continues with a sensitive approach in the winery, to let the fruit and the terroir shine through in the wines. These are some of the best Rhône wines we've tasted, which we highly recommend.
