Hofmann Spatburgunder Rotwein Trocken 2015
This is a fine example of a new wave of Spätburgunders, this gem is grown by family winemaker Jorgen Hoffman
While Riesling put Germany on the world wine map, it is increasingly their Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) that is getting people really excited. This is a fine example of a new wave of Spätburgunders, this gem is grown by family winemaker Jorgen Hoffman on limestone-rich soils in the north of the Rheinhessen and raised in French oak for 16 months. The label on this Hofmann wine features a chair. This is because winemaker Jorgen Hofmann and his wife decided that this Pinot Noir shared many similarities with a chair - stylish and sophisticated, soft and cosy, and noble red velvet in colour.
This Pinot Noir shows spicy aromas, with flavours of cherries, cranberries and bright red fruit on the palate.
