Grove Mill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016
96 points - Decanter Magazine Premium New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Panel Tasting
Established in 1988 in the Wairau Valley by a group of local winegrowers and enthusiasts, Grove Mill is dedicated to crafting premium wines with minimal environmental impact. Long before sustainability was fashionable, Grove Mill's founders integrated sustainable practises into their winemaking ethos. The Southern Bell Frog, for which they have established a wetland beside the winery, is a symbol of their commitment to preserve the land for the future. The most recent pioneering effort includes the installation of three hundred 'grid connected' solar panels to help power the winery. This specialised type of solar panel returns unused, excess energy to the grid to store for future use, as needed.
