Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Another gem from firebrand winemaker Kevin Judd, made with wild yeasts
In stock

This Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of candied citrus peel, honeysuckle, brioche, tarragon and lemon thyme. The palate is full with flavours of citrus and stone fruit, with a crisp acidity, a delicate, smoky nuance, and notes of flint on the long, dry finish. An alternative style that is both intricate and textural, with a generous succulent palate and a crisp finish.

Greywacke is the exciting new solo venture of Kevin Judd, who was chief winemaker at Cloudy Bay for 25 vintages and instrumental in the international recognition which New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc enjoys today. The debut wine under the Greywacke label was the 2009 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, which sold out almost everywhere. Fermented entirely with naturally occurring yeast, this is an alternative style of Sauvignon Blanc that is both intricate and textural.
