Garage Wine Co. Old Vine Pale Rosé 2020 Lot 103
"A chilled red for some, a proper rosé for others" you decide! Made with select parcels of Cariñena and Monastrell, exposed to brief skin contact.
"A cheeky chilled red with a very tasty palate: vivid notes of pomegranate, cranberries, wild strawberries and citrus with herbs– that literally makes you hunger for food. Oily on the palate with crunchy berries and linear acidity to match mid-weight phenolics. Delicious and serious. A light red for chilling not a rosé—full stop. Note : this wine by the glass will make the most macho of men break down and sing the praises of pink. Put it by the glass and/or offer a taste and soon you will have everyone pointing at the bottle to ask: What else do you have by these people? Flexible food match / try with sea urchins / foie gras / rich fish like salmon / sushi / Thai food with or without heat . . ."
"In these times it is important to stand for what you believe in, and more importantly to build the kind of business you believe in. At Garage Wine Co. we revive old vineyards in marginalized Chilean communities to make coveted wines. We’ve positioned these wines in a dozen established fine wine markets around the world and we grow. The wines are not made to be expensive per se, but they are found on the higher shelves– they need to command a price that allows for proper farming. What we have discovered is that the long-term practices of regenerative farming not only make for better fruit and thus more flavourful wine, but that such a business can become a force for financial, community and environmental good."
